The Finnish Catalysis Society invites you to the 8th Young Scientist Forum in Espoo, 12.4.2024. This year's event is hosted by VTT. The Forum is an event for young researchers to present their catalysis related research and to network with the other researchers in the field of catalysis in Finland. Contributions from all sub-fields of catalysis are very welcome: homogeneous, heterogeneous, enzymatic and polymer catalysis. All PhD students, their supervisors and other researchers in the field of catalysis in Finland are cordially welcome!
The scientific programme includes keynote lectures, oral presentations and a poster session. The annual meeting of the Finnish Catalysis Society will be held after the presentations. The evening will continue with a relaxed networking over a dinner and a possibility to participate in an Escape room game.
The event venue for the scientific and social program is Trap Factory in Otaniemi, Metallimiehenkuja 6 D, Espoo (https://trapfactory.fi/en/venue/). The event hall seats up to 120 people and it is equipped with modern AV-equipment. The venue can be reached easily both by car and public transport. If you are arriving by car, the Trap Factory is conveniently located in the immediate vicinity of both Kehä 1 and Länsiväylä. Free parking spaces for up to 30 vehicles are available close to the venue. If using public transport, you can use bus or metro. From Helsinki city center it is less than a 15 minute metro ride. It is only a two minute walk from the Aalto University stop of the West Metro line, take the exit A and turn right after the escalators. Alternatively there is a 100m walk from the Aalto University (M) bus stop.
Plenary lecture: Professor Andrzej Kotarba - Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland: "New paradigms in catalysts preparation".
Andrzej Kotarba is the EFCATS 2023 Francoise Gault lecturer from the Faculty of Chemistry Jagiellonian University in Krakow. His research focuses on correlations between composition-structure-morphology-performance in order to design real catalytic materials.
Keynote lecture: Research professor Juha Lehtonen, VTT: "Hydroprocessing of bio-oils to fuels and chemicals - Catalyst and process development towards commercialization".
Juha Lehtonen works at VTT as research professor of Sustainable chemical and catalytic conversion processes.
Registration for the event is now closed.
